Personally, VOC members chose not to go to the events, especially did not want to hear any speeches.
What we did hear was there were more Non-Creeks' speaking and honored than any of our Creeks.
That probably sets the tone for whom the newly elected have affinity for.

Nothing new. Chief Tiger and 2nd Chief Barnett were in court last August to testify on BEHALF of Marcella Giles and her determination to have her own casino. Nothing has changed except now they are our Executive Branch instead of on the Legislative Branch of Creek Government.
Yesterday Chief Tiger said he would make a statment in 1, 2, or 3 weeks.
Of course this will be after his National Council passes a tribal resolution approving the Kialegee casino so that Chief Tiger can say "I am of pure heart, walking in two worlds with one spirit, I will follow the laws of this nation and of this great National Council (with beaming Cherrah Quiett the new Speaker)."
Let the gaming begin.
The laudy daw about Riverspirit building a hotel will of course be on hold because the new casino, RED CLAY that Chief Tiger is part owner of will take about $32,000,000, (yep that millions) of dollars away from Creek Nation.

Chief Tiger spoke yesterday of the State of Oklahoma and Creek Nation no longer being "them against us, unity help each other", and other words out of the side of his mouth.

It was Chief Tiger when he was Speaker of the National Council that wouldn't allow a tobacco compact with the State of Oklahoma. He caused a loss of millions of $$$$$ Creek Nation and other tribes because of his actions.
He stopped the tobacco compact 6 years ago and now is wants to allow gaming by any other tribe inside Creek Nation boundaries.
Why wasn't his key note speaker there from Washington D. C. Duh.
Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. What's a crook to do when the scam is public? Can't say he wants the casino in BA, can't say he doesn't.

Wonder if Sam remembers an investigator named Carla Cantrell. She's the one that filed charges against Chief George after he stole that $40K from Okmulgee Community. Sam and Ms. Cantrell were once verrrry close.
But, now that Sam is a bought man, Chief Tiger won't have to worry about that past stuff or about Sam and the NC fighting Red Clay Casino in BA.
What was Coach Switzer doing there yesterday.

Ole George is politically savvy to this own people. They believed everything he told them. Well, not everyon believed him, but emough to get elected. He has already sold his people out in his first day in office. He will not take a position on the Kialagee Casino. If he has already broke his oath. He is not to the best of his ability protecting the Constitution of the "Great Muscogee (Creek) Nation. He is avoiding the media, because he made a promise to the Giles family, Kialagee voters (also vote in creek elections) and the financial backers of this casino. Three different groups of people that he will let down if he makes a public statement. His underhanded deals have finally caught up with him, because even as CHIEF he will not have the final say on the casino. He was out smarted by the local citizens, local elected officials, county elected officials, state elected offiicials and federal elected officials. Oh yeah, and even his dream team of attorneys that make millions from the Nation can't get him out of this mess. All I can do is laugh. He make a comment "It's out of my control". To the people he owes " I tried". These backers invested lots of money and will not get any return..... oh yeah, the citizens get what they deserve, because they voted for him

Those Miami and Chicago wise guys who own the entity financing and planning to manage the fabulous "Red Clay Casino" may become very unhappy with George if he cuts and runs on them. Especially if they've already paid him off. Those guys don't play nice. In fact, sometimes they bust kneecaps on folks who won't stay bribed.

Here's an interesting tidbit of info I just ead in the "Muskogee Phoenix" (Sat. or Sun.). One Michael P. Wisner, 39, was charged in Federal Court with - Perjury and Conspiracy.......hmmmm, definitely involves federal money and the only place he had his hands on it was at trade and commerce...

Trade & Commerce (Michael Wisner) bought & sold TOBACCO.
The company building the Red Clay Casino for Giles & The Kilagee Tribe also have interests in TOBACCO.
Chief Tiger when speaker of our NC stopped the TOBACCO compact with Oklahoma.
The month that Wisner was fired was the very month that the NC wrote legislation, sponsored by Chief Tiger, to put Chief Tiger on the Board of Trade & Commerce - TOBACCO.
Now Chief Tiger won't make a comment on the Red Clay Casino until his State of the Nation address late this month.
The TOBACCO people have to get with the casino people and decide what Chief Tiger will do. He is also bought and paid for. His little salary of $150K plus all the perks is small in comparison to the millions of dollars at stake for him.

Hey, Henry Harjo was on the board of Trade & Commerce is also on the business board of Kialegee Tribal Town (they call them warriors). Mr. Harjo quaddripple dips from tribes.
He's at a meeting with Trade & Commerce at the same he's at a meeting with Kialegee as a warrior.
Chief Ellis fired Michael Wisner and the Board of Trade & Commerce which included Mr. Henry Harjo and Roger Barnett, Bill Fife and Sam Alexander filed a law suit against Chief for the terminations, and then Chief George put himself on the T&C Board.
HMMMMMM, something smells like rotten tuna. YAAA

I am tellinlg you now,That the apeaker is from thlopthlocco and other NC members are of different Sovereign nations and are on our citizens enrollemtn list, this is against the law, wwe do not have enought food to feed all the other sovereign nations, and not enough funds to pay all eht other sovereign nations,,I have told you before they are double dipping in our pockets,,now how is the neww chief going to back out of the Kialgee? I like George if I am going to be screwed by another Chief at least I am glad he is a full blood.!!

Be careful what you wish for wotko70. I am in agreement with most of what you say. There seem to be entirely too many other Tribes consuming what should be, for the most part, MCN resources.
Whatever happened to hiring MCN Tribal Members for MCN positions ? I agree that if there is no tribal member qualified, then hiring would have to be performed outside of the Nation. But, why can't these outside people be hired on a temporary basis as Training Contractors to train a MCN Tribal Member to perform the duties of the Job in question ? With a continuing process following along so that other tribal members can be a back-up (isn't that why we have a 2nd Chief ?) and perform that particular job (people do move on th other position, take vacations, leave of absences, etc.). Is this such a foreign concept...?
However, Ole' George's Clique has just started. Many people like George and he has some redeeming characteristics.
But, isn't there something amiss with thinking, where the final result is that ALL tribal members, except the Ole' George Clique, still get SCREWED....? SCREWED IS SCREWED.
When does the Selfishness stop ? Why be a Tribe if all members are not due equal treatment ? Our Ancestors are rightfully angry.
When we have a Chief that will go back to the beginning and address ancient injustices, like fixing the mistakes made on the Dawes Rolls ?

From Kialegee's Constitution information:
"Enrollment in the tribe at its establishment required to be at half to full blood Muscogee Creek and one-half to full blood Indian of any other tribe. Enrollment follows matrilineal descent. Any descendant of a female Kialegee tribal member is automatically eligible for tribal membership, while spouses of Kialegee tribal members may petition for membership. In special circumstances, any full-blood Indian may petition the tribe for enrollment as an "Adopted Member."

I think Tiger will not back Red Clay, I think its all a misunderstanding, and, Tiger will stay on board with Creek Nation. There is a lot misinformation out there, but, he will get a new batch of not so friendly Creek friends that are on more than one ROLL!

A Full blood full of s***. The best is yet to come on the Red Clay Casino. What a bunch of crap saying miss information on the casino issue is being said. The bottom line is George is either for or against the casino in Broken Arrow. YES or NO. which is it. It is on record at the Tulsa county court house that George and Roger talked in support of the land lease for Marcella Giles and her sister to lease their property to the Kialgee Tribal town for the casino. If George does not speak up and against the casino issue immediately he has totaly went against his oath to defend the Muscogee (Creek) Nation which is no surprise to many.Take the oath and in less than two hrs. break the oath by not defending the GREAT Muscogee Nation as was said. TREASON is a good word for going against the GREAT Muscogee Nation.What is it George YES or NO? If the Chief speaks in favor of the casino there should be a major uprising.The Chiefs first real decission and he balks on it.

I have read the text of Chief Tiger's Inaugural address that was published in the Okmulgee paper. I believe that it something that all citizens should read. Like all politicians it is an accumulation of thank yous, promises and visions of the future. Some are attainable and some are not, the section on the judiciary is very telling and disturbing. It is not surprising that Chief Tiger would re-organize the courts into a structure that might be more manageable by both the executive and legislative bodies.
He mentioned signing legislation that would allow the "amendment of NCA-IO-189 to include language to name the 3 inferior courts District Court Criminal Division, District Court-Civil Division, District Court-Family Division. Also appointments to the Supreme Court and conduct a financial audit of the Judiciary as well as conduct a review of Supreme Court Rulings and District Court Ruliing regarding their legality." He did not make clear who it is that will conduct this review nor what legal authority they will have regarding their findings other than Chief Tigers continued battle with the Judiciary at the expense of the Muscogee people.
It appears that the separation of powers guaranteed by our Constitution is once again coming under fire by a gentleman that has just taken an oath to defend it.

To annon: I bet you wish VOC wasn't represented. In fact I bet you wish VOC would just go away. I would even venture to say that if it wasn't for VOC, Principal Cheat Tiger's statement would have been very different. I'm not a supporter of VOC for any other reason than they state FACTS. VOC is the only reason that the average tribal citizen knows ANYTHING about all the thievery, severance checks,and lies told by our "so-called leaders." What this tribe needs is some one to introduce legislation to create "Freedom of Information Act" and shed some light on the cockroaches that are in charge.
